Our shipment of Evolon arrived today! We have Evolon and Evolon Soft, both come in precut 100 cm x 100 cm pieces (that’s about 39″x39″). Let me tell you, this stuff is fabulous!  It’s like a fabric, yet like paper too, or maybe like a light leather…it’s very nice on the fingers. The big question is what is the difference between the two?

Evolon Regular is slightly heavier. It is more paper-like, but still much softer and more fabric-like than Tyvek Fabric. It is very stitchable.

Evolon Soft is a bit lighter. It is more fabric-like, almost like a very light velvet or even a chamois. It is more drapey than the regular, and also very stitchable.

Both varieties can be painted, dyed, heat distressed (please use a respirator just in case), cut (it doesn’t fray), cut with a soldering iron, stitched by hand or machine…

When I touch it I immediately think of trying some Deka Transfer Paints on it, I bet it would give great results.
